This recipe combines sweet and salty flavors that make these drops totally moreish!

What You Need:

  • 1 (11 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips

  • 2 T of creamy peanut butter
  • 1 (12 oz.) jar dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 (4 oz.) can potato sticks

Instructions:

1. Place the chips into a large heavy saucepan.
2. Add the peanut butter to the pan and place over low heat.
3. Heat the mixture for five minutes, or until smooth, while stirring constantly.
4. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the peanuts until they’re completely coated.
5. Add the potato sticks to the mixture, and stir carefully until they’re well coated.
6. Line a pan with wax paper and drop the mixture onto the paper one teaspoonful at a time.
7. Chill the drops until firm.

These sweet salty drops resemble hay bales, making them just right for this time of year. If you can bear not to eat them all yourself, they also make great candies for trick-or-treaters – just wrap tightly in plastic and tie them with a Halloween bow. You could also experiment with using chocolate chips rather than butterscotch, or make some of each. Also, the nuts are optional.

Makes 5 dozen drops.
