Sweet Halloween Recipe Idea #9 – Ghoulish Green Monster Toes

These sweet Halloween treats are very quick to make, and will make an appropriately nasty-looking addition to your party food!

What You Need:

  • 12 oz. white candy coating, chopped

  • Green paste food coloring
  • 22 peanut butter filled oblong sandwich cookies
  • 11 miniature Tootsie rolls, cut in half lengthwise

Instructions:

1. Place the candy coating into a microwaveable bowl.
2. Heat the candy on high for 1 minute.
3. Remove and stir.
3. If the candy still isn’t totally melted and smooth, continue heating at 30 second intervals, stirring each time until it is thoroughly blended.
4. Add enough green paste food coloring to create the desired color.
5. Dip each cookie into the green frosting until it is totally coated, and allow any excess to drip back into the bowl.
6. Place the coated cookies on wax paper.
7. Form a ‘nail’ by pressing half of a Tootsie roll into the top of each cookie.
8. Let the cookies stand for 15 minutes, or until the coating has hardened.

These simple cookies involve no baking, so the kids can join in too. The finished result is sure to be a hit with party guests of all ages!
