Sweet Halloween Recipe Idea #7 – Glittery Halloween Popcorn

This is a fun recipe that is great for both parties and for munching on while watching those scary Halloween movies. It’s super-simple to make too.

What You Need:

  • 1 (1.75 oz.) bag microwave popcorn [alternatively if you have a popcorn maker, use a bag of corn kernels]

  • 1 C of fruit-flavored cereal
  • 1 C of chocolate-flavored cereal
  • 1 T of edible glitter

Instructions:

1. Microwave the popcorn as directed on the package [or place it in your popcorn machine in the usual way].
2. Place the popcorn into a large mixing bowl.
3. Add the cereal and toss to combine with the popcorn.
4. Sprinkle the glitter into the bowl, and toss again to coat both the popcorn and the cereal well.

If you have trouble finding edible glitter, try your local craft store’s cake decorating department. If you’re unable to find it, colored sugars work well too.

This fun snack can be placed in a plastic pumpkin to provide a handy finger food during the party. You can also decant it into small Halloween bags to hand out to trick-or-treaters.

Makes 8 servings.
