With their scary appearance, spiders quite naturally fit into the gallery of popular Halloween creatures, and take a starring role in this tasty Halloween ice cream recipe.
What You Need:
- 8 individual Graham cracker tart shells
- 8 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- 16 cookies filled with chocolate cream, crumbled
- 16 red M&M candy pieces
- 16 pieces of black shoestring licorice
Instructions:
1. Place the shells on a baking sheet.
2. To each shell, add 1 scoop of ice cream.
3. Crumble the cookies into a mixing bowl.
4. Sprinkle the cookies over the ice cream to cover it well.
5. Freeze the filled shells for 30 minutes, or until the ice cream has hardened.
6. Remove the shells and press two M&Ms into the front of each scoop of ice cream, to create the eyes.
7. Cut the licorice strips into quarters.
8. Press eight strips of licorice into each ice cream scoop to form spider legs.
9. Return to the freezer until ready to serve.
These little spiders are so simple to make, and the kids will love them. Any flavor of ice cream can be used, and you might also want to use different colors of M&Ms for the eyes.
