These cute sweets are sure to go down a treat at your Halloween party, and are great for casual snacks. They’re very easy to make too, since no reall cooking is involved!
What You Need:
- 1 (3 ft.) roll of chewy fruit snack
- 14 (3 inch long) pretzel sticks
- 2/3 C white chocolate baking chips
- 1 t miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
1. Use wax paper to completely cover a cookie sheet.
2. Unroll the fruit snack and cut the long end of the snack from end to end into 1/2 inch fringe.
3. Cut the roll into segments, each measuring 2 inches.
4. Wrap a piece of the fringed fruit snack around one end of each pretzel stick.
5. Using your fingers, firmly press the fruit snack onto the pretzel, ensuring that it sticks well.
6. Place the pretzel sticks onto the prepared cookie sheet.
7. Add the white baking chips into a saucepan, and warm at low heat.
8. Heat the chips for about 5 minutes (or until melted), while stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
9. Take the pan off the stove.
10. Measure out 1/2 t of the melted chips and form a ghost shape by pouring over the middle of a pretzel stick (you could do this freehand, or use a ghost-shaped mold).
11. Continue until all 14 ghosts are complete.
12. Place 3 of the chocolate chips onto each ghost head, to form eyes and a nose.
13. Allow the ghosts to set at room temperature – this will normally take around 45 minutes.
To save time, you could melt the white chips using the microwave instead of on the stove. To do this, add the chips to a microwaveable dish, and cook on high for 30 seconds, then stir until the all the chips have melted completely. To speed up the setting process, you can also put the completed ghosts in the freezer for 5 minutes until they harden.
