How To Use Halloween Scrapbooking To Preserve Your Halloween Memories

Halloween scrapbooking is a great way to keep a record of all your fun Halloween activities, and is enjoyable for kids and adults alike. In years to come you and your family will be able to look back and remember exactly how you used to celebrate Halloween, and a scrapbook will bring all those happy moments flooding back.

Creating a Halloween scrapbook is easy too (in fact, it’s one of the simplest Halloween crafts), and you just need a few supplies to get started, all of which are readily available in your local stores or online. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A scrapbook

  • A selection of Halloween stickers
  • A selection of colored craft papers
  • Tools for painting and drawing, like pencils, crayons etc

If you’re creating a Halloween scrapbook with your kids, you could just let them go shopping for the supplies if they’re old enough (after setting a budget of course!) – this will save you time, and kids will often make better choices than adults when it comes to this kind of thing. Just be sure that they know how much they can spend!

Scrapbooking is most fun if there’s plenty of space to spread out your supplies, so try clearing the kitchen table or setting aside space in the spare room if you have one.

So, what are you going to put in your Halloween scrapbook?

Halloween scrapbooking suppliesSince scrapbooking is a creative activity, everyone’s scrapbook will be different, and there’s no real right or wrong way to do it. But if you’re looking for Halloween scrapbook layout ideas, you might want to create separate areas for things such as:

a) Halloween invitation cards. If you and your kids have received Halloween party invites, add these to the scrapbook.

b) Lists. Have your kids make lists of their favorite Halloween-related things, such as films, movies, TV programs, costumes, Halloween creatures, Halloween foods and similar stuff. The lists can then be added to the scrapbook.

c) Halloween artwork. Most kids like to draw and paint, and Halloween provides plenty of subjects for budding artists. Many schools will have kids make drawings as part of various Halloween crafts projects too, so any Halloween paintings and drawings can also be added to the scrapbook.

d) Photos. Have you got photos of your Halloween decorations, foods, parties and other events? Then add those to the scrapbook too. Most kids can use point-and-shoot cameras easily, so let them take their own photos to add to the book too.

Your kids can also decorate the cover of the scrapbook with the stickers and cut outs of Halloween shapes (like cats, spiders, pumpkins etc) made from the colored paper.

Scrapbooking a great way to keep your kids occupied while stimulating their creativity and creating something of lasting value too, so this makes a great addition to your Halloween activities.
